Seeing Eye to Eye versus A to I!

While living in France, one of the cultural norms I quickly embraced was to always look someone in the eyes when speaking or offering salutations. Avoiding direct eye contact when saying "Santé"
not only meant bad luck but also that you were insincere about wishing someone good health (i.e. linking to medieval times to make eye contact to ensure no one was trying to poison you!). At work, we make eye contact when acknowledging feedback, ensuring instruction clarity, and/or confirming alignment. In relationships, we make eye contact to drive empathy, compassion, and trust.
When I first started documenting my learnings, experience, and wisdom from my life's chapters, I thought it would be easy to simply introduce the details of the concept and have AI write a blog for me. And it was! No spell check or grammar checks needed and the AI tool worked exponentially faster than me! I was at first so impressed. Then, I started re-reading the articles. The articles missed emotion, missed a soul, ...they missed me. When I started writing for myself, I recall listening to audio books and even getting advice from my film director neighbor on how to write. The key learning was to just write. Don't overthink corrections, reactions, or impressions. Simply share your heart and soul in it's raw, imperfect, and unfiltered authenticity. So, this is what you are getting from me! My main objective is to provide some inspiration and wisdom, in hopes to make a positive impact in people's lives.
With the accelerating technology advancement of this fourth industrial revolution, let's not forget the everlasting power of humans connecting face to face - eye to eye. I hope you are enjoying your weekend with friends and loved ones! Cheers to natural, not artificial, human connections!
