Don't forget to stop and smell the burning rubber....

Updated: Jan 7

"To be, or not to be - that is the question", but not to be - that is the answer to becoming. I believe letting go of our default mind programming is key to unlocking creativity and fulfillment at work.

95% Automation. Many seek this or higher to drive efficiency for their manufacturing supply chain processes. However, would you want this level of default automation for your brain with its 86 billion neurons and 100 trillion connections between one another? I prefer to be the agent (author of my own story) and the facilitator of my mind's thoughts. For our thoughts become our words, our words our actions, and our actions our being.

In life, like with cars, I like to drive rather than be driven. I like the smell of burning rubber, the feeling of the engine vibration, the feathering of the clutch, the engagement of the gears, the rush of watching the RPM needle red line, and the sound of the tires spinning, smoking, warming the peaceful asphalt.

We sometimes wonder why life accelerates as we get older. My theory is that we stop learning new skills, stop creating new neuron connections, and get lost in the blur of another routine day. What if we were conscious of every moment, every new experience, every new perspective? I have experienced this recently and I can tell you life for sure slows down. The way to unlock some of the greatest innovations is through letting go, taking a walk, becoming detached from conventional thinking. Consciousness doesn't necessarily mean control. It means awareness. For, the "ego seeks to control because it lives in fear". We must live our lives without fear and trust in the capabilities of our mind.

Our mind is a result of our experiences, personality, and ancestral trauma carried across generations. Reality and Bias are defined by thoughts. However, we have the ability to create the right environment, values, and awareness to begin the reprogramming. I have spent the past year becoming aware of the trauma I experienced as a child and the genetic wounds passed down from my ancestors. This awareness has helped me begin a healing process and take on new perspectives to reprogram my thoughts and gain new capabilities.

Check out below a couple of my favorite videos (PBS - Who's in Control and Dr. David Eagleman - Stanford Neuroscientist on Resetting Bias)! #PerceptualGenetics, #WhosInControl, #HumanityIsYourIngroup, #InclusiveEmpathy, #ResetBrainBias, #Connectomics

Happy smiles per mile!
